TD go top

TD go top

Stuart Powell2 Feb - 17:02

masters of our own destiny.

With plenty of rain across West Sussex and postponements galore it was with great surprise and relief TD reserves got a game at south water. As per normal, south waters pitch was in the immaculate condition.
The game started and Water took a 3-5-2 stance and were busy all over the pitch and made TD hurry their work as they didn't look comfortable in the early exchanges. It took TD a little while to get to grips with this, as they seemed to be overrun without being under any real pressure. with a few instructions and a few tweaks. TD started to get to the better of southwater with chances falling to Toby who shinned it wide, Tony put through with a 1 on 1 who you would normally put your house on, placed it agonisingly wide. Senra hitting the cross bar after a moment of brilliance on the volley.
At half time TD were asked to calm down and relax and to release the wingers early where possible due to Southwaters high line and gaps with Waters wing backs being a little high.
Within 5 minutes of the second half starting borer did exactly as the team was asked in the team talk. He sent a Beautiful through ball into the danger area sending Crocker away who finished expertly. A few minutes later, Toby took full advantage of the high southwater line, and scored with confidence.
Once TD had the 2 goal cushion they took full control of the game showing great composure, started moving the ball back-and-forth back and forth, mazza was running water ragged.  And it was constant pressure, pressure, pressure. Surprisingly, South water didn't adapt their game at all. And in kept a high line which meant TD was just pulling them apart before putting the ball through for the wave of TD players trying to get on the score sheet.

It was a corner which secured TDs third goal. a decent cross meant only 1 thing which was a Redley goal,Matched with Gazza style celebrations. On the 90th min Charlie banged in number 4 from close range to win the game 4-0

There's plenty of candidates for man of the match with votes going to several players, However Borer came out on top he gave us the composure we needed at the right time and set us away with a with a brilliant assist to get the important first goal. We'll miss you while you're in New Zealand.

Tougher challenges ahead but TD top, 3 points ,clean sheet. Thats a good Saturday
