Getting back to winning ways after a down turn in form was a must for the dragons in this fixture. Despite the pitch being a mud bath and the game almost getting called off, Shipley were able to secure a 6-0 victory.
The game was very quiet in the early minutes with the only noise of not being the squelch of mud under boots. Shipley started a little cagey but managed to move the ball around creating some early chances passing through the opposition but not quite managing to find the back of the net. The game was turned on its head when the big Southwater forward was shown red for lashing out and trying to land a punch unprovoked on TD defender Hayes. Shortly after Tiago found the net with an absolute pea roller into the bottom corner.
Shortly after Mid field maestro Peppercorn scorned a brilliant opportunity by hitting it straight at the goal keeper. Shipley finally got their second through Banks via a corner. Dominating the middle of the park all half he was the only man for the job to increase Shipley's lead.
A third goal proved stubborn to find for Shipley but in the second half they were finally able to find the net again through Adam Dinkovski. Donkovski had been out of the side for various reasons and the fans feared that Terry had given him the cold shoulder, however he proved why he deserves to be back in the side.
Following this the goals came easier and the tensions began to rise as Southwater become increasingly agitated. Anything from heavy tackles unpunished, diving or just general whinging began to increase from the blue side. Gideon made it 4 shortly before Southwaters best chance came when Collet conceded a very suspect penalty when shielding the ball for the keeper. Despite the all time high rent prices Charman and Henstock managed to find themselves comfortable lodgings free of charge in the Southwater wingers head. Southwater hit the cross bar and not long later Shipley managed to score a 5th. When there's a goal from Langridge it means a good day for Shipley and a very bad one for the Royals. To Cap off a mature performance from Shipley Johnie B managed to bag himself a cheeky goal shortly before the final whistle. With still room for improvement and lessons to learn TD got back to winning ways! Despite not putting a food wrong all game Spenny misses out on MOM to Banks
