TD face Crawley & Maidenbower Panthers in the first game as champions.
The match got off to a lively start, with both teams coming out of the blocks quickly. Crawley Panthers looked dangerous early on, creating a few half-chances through quick counter-attacks, however TD weathered the early storm.
TD weren't at their best throughout the first half, not playing the same football that they have been able to throughout the season, but fortunately for TD they were going into half time level.
The second half started with a vengeance as TD Shipley came out more aggressively, desperate to show their best football. In the 40th minute, the home side were winning after catching Shipley on the break, with a long ball over the top and their striker latching onto and finishing well into the bottom corner.
After the goal, TD had a really good 10 minute spell of sheer brilliance, with some good determination, good football and creating numerous chances. The equalizer came in the 43rd minute with a fantastic free kick from Mila Sullivan who hit a brilliant and thunderous strike into the top right corner.
Minutes later, Kara Murray scored the winner in the 49th minute, after some fast and quick thinking from Wallis-Rhaine who won a throw in and took it quickly into the path of Kara Murray who drove towards goal and calmly finished past the keeper. That goal makes it 9 goals for Kara this season.
The game ended 2-1 to Shipley which extends the unbeaten run to 12 games in the league, and 8 points clear at the top.
Abbie Streatfield won POTM after working really hard attacking and defending, and also playing against her old team for the first time.
Onto the next game, which is in 2 weeks time at home against Whitehawk. Come on TD!!!
